Beauty of Joseon has released a new sunscreen called the Day Dew Sunscreen. If you missed the announcement; that’s because the new Beauty of Joseon Day Dew Sunscreen is a US release that is not sold or marketed overseas. According to Beauty of Joseon’s website, this new sunscreen is the brand’s “most innovative formula yet”… or is it another disappointment like its tinted sunscreen? I’m a fan of Beauty of Joseon’s sunscreens, although some of their products have been hit and misses for me. My review of the Beauty of Joseon Day Dew Sunscreen in this blogpost.

• 80 minutes water resistance- good for Singapore’s humidity and sports
• No white cast
• Hydrating
• Good slip
• Finish is dewy but not oily looking
• No pilling
• Layers well with makeup
The bad about Beauty of Joseon Day Dew Sunscreen
• PA value not stated
• Made in the US, hence UV filters are older generation; compared to Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Aqua-fresh Rice which consists of newer generation UV filters that are more photostable
• Not as lightweight as the Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Aqua-fresh Rice- can feel the sunscreen film for Beauty of Joseon Day Dew Sunscreen
• Typical sunscreen scent
Beauty of Joseon Day Dew Sunscreen has good slip and is hydrating; but the overall product feels like a let down compared to its Korean versions of sunscreens.
Verdict on Beauty of Joseon Day Dew Sunscreen
The Beauty of Joseon Day Dew sunscreen was specially formulated for the US market; and disappointingly, this sunscreen feels like a generic sunscreen. The Beauty of Joseon Day Dew Sunscreen lacks all the features of its Korean versions that made it so well loved and popular- the newer generation UV filters, ultra thin consistency and light weight finish. This sunscreen, like Beauty of Joseon’s tinted sunscreen, only serves to reinforce the impression that the brand wants to ride on its popularity among US audiences but in order to meet US FDA requirements for sunscreens, created US versions of sunscreens that feel inferior to its Relief Sun series (original and Aqua Fresh).
My final verdict on Beauty of Joseon Day Dew sunscreen: functional but overall disappointing in its choice of UV filters and finish.
