How to Get Glass Skin in 3 Steps

How to Get Glass Skin in 3 Steps

Meet the latest trend from Korea to take the beauty world by storm: Glass skin. Glass skin is natural blemish free, hydrated and luminous skin that looks almost transparent, like glass. Ever since makeup artist Ellie Choi’s translucent looking skin went viral on Instagram, beauty junkies have been trying to create Choi’s glass look with various skincare and makeup regimes. Asian skincare regimes are known for their multistep regimes which require layer upon layer of products to protect the skin and to achieve that healthy, porcelain like complexion. Can time strapped ladies achieve healthy and flawless glass skin with a fuss free skincare regime? Let’s break down what exactly makes glass skin look the way it is and how this look can be recreated efficiently for the busy woman in just three steps

#1: Clean and clear

Blemish free and clean skin form the basis for glass skin. Double cleanse daily and exfoliate weekly to remove dirt and smoothen skin texture.

Tip: blemishes on the skin such as freckles and sun spots cannot be removed with skincare. One way to effectively remove blemishes is to with lasers and/or chemical peels. Glycolic acid is a commonly used chemical peel for pigmentation, texture refinement and has no downtime, making it a favourite among patients.

#2: Pores be gone

Smooth skin texture and pore free skin are essential for glass skin, so regular exfoliation and shrinking large pores are essential. The gold standard for shrinking large pores on the skin is with fractional CO2 laser. Fractional CO2 laser causes collagen remodelling in the skin to shrink pores and efface fine lines, giving skin a smoother texture

#3: Get that glow

Look for hyaluronic acid in your skincare products. Hyaluronic acid can hold up to 1000x its body weight in water and is one of the key steps in achieving glass skin.

Tip: a fast way to plump up your skin with hyaluronic acid for that hydration boost. Tiny microinjections of hyaluronic acid (i.e. Skinboosters)  into the skin for intense hydration can dramatically improve your complexion.
